A Whale Breaching

Don't ask why Don't ask how Don't ask forever Love me now This love of mine Had no beginning It has no end I was an oak, Now I'm a willow Now I can bend And tho' I'll never In my life see you again I still stay Until it's time for you to go Buffy St Marie The law of the jungle was already here. They spoke of "the kindness of the Lord" but as far as he was concerned there was little kindness in any of it. There was a destiny. And nothing would stand in the way of that. There was a way of seeing humans that was multi-generational; and outside time. There was a kind of custodial concern, but not in any normal sense. The Tale of the Deceitful Woman dissolved into other Parables. And yes, we fought for a future. Grace, elegance, beauty, it was the beauty that transfixed them.  In the end there was only one way to deal with the hypocrisy of the human chattels, and that was to ignore them. They had destroyed their own country, these people; and took no re...

Providence

Black clad police firing into unarmed crowds.  Somehow we're all fine with it. Two police standing over an unarmed 70-yhear-old grandmother pepper spraying her in the face.   Somehow we're all fine with it. Genuine protest, an unfamiliar sight in Australia after the orchestrated public displays around climate change and anti-racism, Black Lives Matter protests and for almost two years of recent history, gay marriage, all of them narratives backed by bucket loads of public money, brutally crushed. We're fine with that. We're fine with the mainstream media blatantly lying about the vivid, violent, there's that word again, "unprecedented" displays of authoritarian abuse seen on the streets of Melbourne.  The blind, lustful, violent, abusive, deranged abuses, police punching protestors, slamming their heads into the grounds, never before seen, never before witnessed in the Great Southern Land, tax payer funded military style police literally assaulting the c...

And If You Rise My Love

Move aside or lose a limb. As usual he listened to the humans way too much.  If there was going to be a rapprochement it wasn't gong to be on the terms of some military flunky down from Sydney for a day or three; no matter how intelligent or career advanced.  They didn't work like that. He didn't work like that. Oceanic, their time, the reasons why they did what they did, took one course of action over another, was entirely outside this realm. They were here for a reason; and that reason would make them whole. Otherworldly, a human sniffed, and of course it was.  "More things in heaven and on Earth than can be found in your philosophy, Horatio." Disillusioned was the word that kept popping up more than any other, in that benighted time. Oh cursed ones.  Be brave and fight. Or watch your heads and the heads of your descendants bounce on that bloody battlefield. There wasn't any other way of scaring them into action but to threaten them, and the fates of their...

A Smoking Ruin of an Economy

Everything about this situation was hard to believe. Aiding in a catastrophe, all these hidden hands. He was uncertain how to proceed. There were so many elements at play. Secret intimidations. Coercion. Games. Soldiers, fallen soldiers. Men who no longer believed in what they were asked to do. A desecration, a desolation, at the heart of the state. A polity gone not just sour, but deranged. A violence that had crept through every day life. A terrible sin. A cry in the stain that was once called Australia. Compliments of the chef. These derangements took on tiny forms, and were nation wide. Everyone felt it. Sad, downcast eyes. Human interaction kept to a minimum, unless the truth, their sorrow, their disbelief, would creep out and have them arrested, or jumped on by the herd; their fellows in which they had phlegmatically trusted. No longer.  They became frightened of each other.  Frightened of the authorities.  Frightened of the state. Frightened to go outside....

Australia Destroyed: The Streets of Melbourne

Image
It was with sickened heart, in the brutal regimes of the time, in the deepest hypocrisy of their public statements as the streets of the Victorian capital were stricken with violent confrontations and a  terrible yearning for the abyss. As wind whipped through their glacial forms; and any pretence at good intent vanished. Democracy was over.  Common decency was over.  The brutalist regimes of the future were already in the present.  The cosy familiarity of a country called Australia was gone. All much of the world had ever known about the country, thanks to populists documentaries, was that we had the most dangerous animals on Earth. Poisonous spiders, venomous snakes, giant crocodiles, and a friendly, unsophisticated population.   Now people, still naïve enough to believe their politicians, talked of Freedom Day, how good it would be, but freedom day never came. There was a myriad of excuses for locking people in their own homes,...
